Spirituality

Having been born in a devout Jain family, Swamis and Gurus were integral to my formative years. Vinod Ji and I engaged in daily meditations and immersions in Osho's discourses, and became disciples of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

To me, Spirituality is the very essence of existence. My daily practice of the Art of Living Sudarshan Kriya and meditation have instilled in me the virtues of courage, devotion, commitment, integrity, empathy, and gratitude. Emulating Vinod ji's life of service, I too find my purpose in seva. The mantras propelling my life are, “How much is enough?” and “Yes I can, Yes I will.”

I believe that spirituality is all pervasive. In 2003 and 2004, under Gurudev's direct guidance, I was privileged to curate the inaugural, and the second, Corporate Culture and Spirituality conference. During the three-day assemblies, we presented case studies that highlighted how organizations could, notwithstanding their best business practices, further boost performances by catering to their 'spirit' of the organisation. We addressed the intangibles such as honesty, teamwork, innovation, self-motivation and loyalty that enhance the value of any organisation. We showed how this can be achieved by instituting regular and voluntary group yoga and meditation sessions at the workplace.

Corporate Culture and Spirituality is now housed in the European Parliament under a new banner—the “World Forum for Ethics in Business”.
